Red River Academy
Red River is ideally located a stone's throw from the Red River which weaves through Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana and it is just a short drive from Houston and Dallas. The School is located in such a rural environment that it is well suited to remove any outside distractions that keep can keep any adolescent from focusing on their academics and emotional growth. The Schools location in the small farming community of Lecompte, Louisiana, and pleasant climate of the area, gives students an opportunity to take advantage of the outdoor activities many teens never take the opportunity to be exposed to.
Red River believes that education is an essential part of any change. We understand that getting your child to invest their efforts into education and character development can often at times, be very trying. Red River uses their many years of experience to provide an environment where your child can re-focus on education and their growth toward becoming the healthy, happy individual that they deserve to be.
Red River uses a progressive, competency based curriculum which allows students to excel while ensuring the knowledge base necessary for students to develop and continue their education. Teachers work with students to help education become meaningful and integral to your students life. Meanwhile, school support staff assists with the character development program and coach your child about school standards, responsibilities, and positive citizenship.
Students will have opportunities outside of the classroom and school to get involved with service projects which help make the community an even better place to live. It is a wonderful thing when the Students are able to participate and volunteer around the community. They get a huge sense of accomplishment and helping those in need is one of the greatest gifts we can give. The school's campus provides a safe, warm, and distraction-free environment for students with ample outdoor spaces for students to exercise and play games, while interior spaces such as the library give student a variety of positive activities.
We believe that the Students Families are an extremely large part of the growing process that they go through, therefore, Parents and other members of the student’s families are involved throughout the student’s placement. Parents can take advantage of personal and family oriented workshops so that when the student returns home the family feels united and included in the progress the child has made. Red River understands the responsibility that parents entrust us with when they enroll their child in our school. Our goal is to make the extra-effort to exceed those expectations.
